What are examples of primary and secondary sources?

Data collection methods refer to researchers' approaches to collect and measure data based on fixed variables. The researcher then uses this data to answer questions that are relevant to the research. Data collection methods are used in disciplines like social science, natural science disciplines, and so on.
Primary data is collected by the researcher himself through fieldwork methods and administering questionnaires and interview schedules to interact with his respondents. Examples of the primary data source are data collected through questionnaires, face-to-face interviews, participant observation, etc.
Secondary data is collected by referring to different records and literary works collected for other purposes. This is done when the researcher has restricted mobility, or the sample population is not readily accessible. Examples of secondary sources of data are- books, journals, census, etc.
