In the electrical circuit, there are three kinds of power associated with the circuit that is real power or active power, reactive power and the apparent power.

There are three kinds of elements are used in the electrical circuit that is: resistance, capacitance and inductance.

The combination of the inductance or capacitance with any elements is known as reactance in combine.

Step 2

The power dissipated in the load is known as real power and it is represented by the P and its unit is watts.

This power is only absorbed by the resistive element because the real power associated with the inductance and capacitance is zero.

 The power associated with the reactance are known as the reactive power.

The reactive power is not associated with the resistor and it is purely associated to the inductance and the capacitance.

It is represented by Q and its unit is Volt-Amp reactive.
