a b c

x = 10

y = 19

(2) GRAPH SKETCHING. Provide all details as demonstrated in class.
x = sum of the chronological orders of the last letter in your first name and first letter of
your family name
y = is the last two (2) digits of your student number; example, 45 in 20xx-12345.
Use calculus to sketch the graph of the given function.
(a) f(x) = 3xª – 4x³
(b) f(x) = 3x* – 8x³ + 6x² + 2
(c) f(x) = 3– (x + 1)³
(d) f(x) = 2x3 + 6x² + 6x +5
(e) f(x) = x³ (x + 5)²

• For each item in this problem set, you will use the formula 1+ [(x+y) mod z),
and the variables are specified therein. The result using the formula per item will
correspond to the sub-item you will work on. Here, x is the number using letters
of the Filipino Alphabet where there are 28 of them; y comes your Student Number;
and z is the number of the sub-items therein. Moreover, a mod b is the remainder by
dividing a by b. Example: K is the 11th letter in the alphabet so x= 11 and suppose
y = 3, 2- 5. Hence,
1+ [(x+y) mod z] =1+[(11+3) mod 5]
= 1+[14 mod 5]
= 1+4
Therefore you solve the 5th sub-item, ie., (e).
• Before you start writing or presenting your solution, be able to provide the values for
X, y,z and computation using the formula above. This will be part of the assessment.
Note your work will have no credit if
- the computation using the formula is incorrect;
- the set of values being asked is incorrect; or
you forget to put it.
