Expert Solution
Step 1

The mass media whether television news or newspapers play an important role in disseminating political news. The focus of political coverage in the US is on the president as whatever the president says or does is newsworthy. The journalists receive the news from elected officials,  their aides, and press secretaries. The election of the President is a media event in which thousands of reporters come to the States for the election. The presidential candidates employ media consultants who are responsible for presenting them and their messages in the most effective way. The expansion of radio and television talk shows has given candidates access to connect with more people. These media coverages influence the general public's knowledge about the US government. But sometimes fake or just framed news is also posted by the media which also has an impact on the minds of the people.
