University got project of Management Information System for one of the oldest Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Forest Department. There are three main functions of the department Protection of the Forest Conservation of the Forest Development of the Forest Under provision of this project, a database will be developed to provide a centralized source of up-to-date information about the local Forest Conservation, Plantation, and Nurseries etc. This database will be shared with Forest Department staff and officers for quick decision making and improved management of the organization. It will also help to streamline management interventions in the long run for effective outcomes. Data received from field operations through Mobile Apps will be managed at Head Office and database will be developed and maintained by Chief Conservator Offic. Forest department is divided into four administrative Circles as below Southern Forest Circle Banu Malakand Forest Circle Swat Central Forest Circle Peshawar Hazara Forest Circle Abbottabad Bannu Swat Mardan Mansehra DI Khan Dir Nowshehra Battagram Kohat Bajor Khyber Kohistan S. Waziristan Chitral Mohmand Haripur N. Waziristan Ghitral Gol Extension Orakzai Buner Headquater Khurrum Malakand Organogram consist of Chief Conservator, Deputy Chief Conservator, Conservator, DFO and Ranger. Each Circle is managed by under Conservators and supported by District Forest Officers. Every end of the month DFO’s send reports to Head Office regarding ongoing activities and activities completed at their respective districts. Head office is also updated regarding revenue generated and expenditure at their districts. The Web-based FMIS with shared database consists of the following modules supported by Android App to get data from field in real time. 1) Human Resource 2) Nurseries 3) Plantation 4) Accounts 5) Establishment 6) Extension 7) Inventory 8) Protected Areas 9) Planning & Development 10) Research & Development 11) Community Development 12) Community Awareness Q- Explain how will you conduct User Research for Forest MIS and discuss implication of Ethnography framework in your Research of User ?
