different amounts of displacement. For our prediction
calculation, we're going to use a single value for the
displacement. So let's just use the average of all of the sites.
We'll say this is how much displacement must build up across
the fault, for the fault to break again, and generate another
earthquake like the 1906 quake. Site Displacement (m) 1 ANS.

arithmetic mean) of all of the displacements, including the one
you found in the previous question. To do this, simply add all
of the displacements together, and then divide by the number
of sites, which happens to be 8 in this instance. Once you've
done that, round it to the nearest integer, and enter than
below. This is the average displacement produced by the 1906
earthquake, in meters.
