Question
Three equations of equilibrium are available to determine the unkowns.

-Two dimensional force systems
-Method of sections
-Method of joints
-Fixed support
Expert Solution
Step 1

Three equation of equilibrium consist of the balance of forces in two dimensional and moment balance in that plane of forces.

So in two dimensional force system we can use these three equation of equilibrium.

And these three equation can be written as:

sum of all the forces in x direction=0sum of all the forces in y direction=0sum of all the moments in xy plane=0

We equate all the equation to zero because at the equilibrium condition the body or particle does not move and remains stationary.
