This page from the History Channel's website takes a very brief look at the history of eugenics. This NY Times article is about full body transplants  and the ethical concerns they raised. It is already very clear that the film "Get Out" is an example of the most extreme cases of  body transplants in both the physical and ethical aspects. It also harkens back to the history of eugenics in the United States. Mary Shelley's novel and the 1931 film "Frankenstein" also reveal the serious implications of using medical experimentation to re-create the human in some way, shape, or form. After reading these articles, write an analysis essay examining the  issues of bioethics.  Think about the bioethical issues raised in both films by looking at motives of the film's doctor characters. What was the expected outcome of their surgeries? Who would benefit from their creations? Whose lives were sacrificed in the process? What is revealed about the larger culture? If you watched "Frankenstein" during Halloween week (or if you want to) you can add this film into your evidence.
