Expert Solution
Introduction

Karl Marx and Max Weber are considered two of the founding fathers of Sociology. While Weber focused his analysis on how ascetic Protestantism (religion), capitalism and the rise of bureaucratic organization results in the rationalization of society. Marx's theory of historical materialism focusses on the evolution of social class. He discusses the movement of history itself as a dialectical process of thesis, antithesis and synthesis through which humans move from one form of social arrangement to another. Marx envisioned a final resting point of this process in an egalitarian society established by a revolution by the lower classes.
