Expert Solution
Step 1

Given Information:

The lengths of adult males' hands are normally distributed Mean μ=185 mm and Standard deviation σ=7.4 mm.

Sample size (n) = 6

(a) If a sample of size n is drawn from a normal population with mean μ and standard deviation σ, then the sampling distribution of sample mean x¯ is approximately normally distributed with mean μx¯=μ and standard deviation σx¯=σn.

So, mean of the sampling distribution of sample mean is μx¯=185

Standard deviation of the sampling distribution of sample mean is σx¯=7.46=3.0210373493.02104

Thus, x¯~N185, 3.0210
