Introduction
There are many measures in the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022, to slash prescription drug costs for those with Medicare and lower federal drug spending. Strong bipartisan public approval for the government addressing high and growing drug prices has fueled the development of this legislation. According to the CBO, the law's drug price measures will lower the government budget by $237 billion over 10 years from 2022 to 2031
