Question

Q5. a) The graph shows the motion of an RC helicopter. What will be the average speed from point ‘A’ to point ‘G’. Between which two points (A-B or E-F) will the speed be more? Calculate.

Expert Solution
Step 1

average speed = (distance) / (time)

For distance see y - axis

for time see x- axis

In  0 to 5 seconds the distance covered is = 10 m

From 5th second to 10th second , distance = 0 m

From 10th second to 13th second , distance = 10 m

From 13th to 16th second , distance = 0

From 16th second to 21st second , distance = 5 m

From 21st to 28th second ,distance = 0 m

 Total distance travelled = 10+0+10+0+5+0= 25 m

time = 28 s

average speed = 25/28 = 0.8928 m/s
