The family is Catholic and has been quite involved with the local church since they arrived 6 months ago. The Church has provided them with social, economic, and emotional support. It was the Church that recommended counseling since Juan has been depressed lately and Maria has worried about him and their relocation to the States. Juan says that he has mixed feelings about his decision to bring the family to the States. He misses Mexico and his family there, especially his mother and siblings.
