we know for a conductor polarization is zero , Electric field inside the surface is zero , and the potential inside is constant . hence all the charges lie on the surface.Therefore option d) is incorrect

Hence the dime has an equal no of protons , with positive charge so that the electric field inside the conductor is zero,to maintain charge inequality

                                   Since , now dime has two types of charges i.e positive and negative and we know opposite charges attract each other . This will keeps the dime from exploding. 

Hence option a) is the right answer

 

With unequal no of protons or electrons , the electric field inside a conductor is not zero .

Hence option b) and c) are wrong
