The age distribution of the population in Canada consists of 7.2% inhabitants of ages from 5 years old and below, 13.6% of inhabitants of ages between 6 and 14, 67.1% of inhabitants of ages between 15 and 64, and 12.1% of inhabitants of ages from 65 and above. Lately in a survey conducted on 455 residents in a native-Canadian village in the Northwest Territories (Red Lake Village), it has been counted that there are 47 children with the age of 5 or below, 75 persons with ages between 5 and 14, 288 persons with ages between 15 and 64, and 45 persons with ages of 65 years and above. a)use descriptive statistics for presenting the data b)Use a 5% level of significance to test if there is an agreement between the age distribution in Canada and the age distribution of the residents of Red Lake Village.
Contingency Table
A contingency table can be defined as the visual representation of the relationship between two or more categorical variables that can be evaluated and registered. It is a categorical version of the scatterplot, which is used to investigate the linear relationship between two variables. A contingency table is indeed a type of frequency distribution table that displays two variables at the same time.
Binomial Distribution
Binomial is an algebraic expression of the sum or the difference of two terms. Before knowing about binomial distribution, we must know about the binomial theorem.
