C Programming in Ubuntu
Task #1
Write a C program that input name and Arid Number from the student and display this
information on terminal.
Task #2
Write a C program to print the multiplication table for the given mumber. You can take that
number as input from the user.
Task #3
Write a C program to swap two integers you should write a function named as swap_int and it
should accept arguments as pointers then it should swap integers by dereferencing those pointers.
Instructions:
You are encouraged to use good programming conventions by entering appropriate comments,
using indentations, and using descriptive variable names in your programs.
Deliverables:
Upload the document containing C program for cach task along with the screen shots of your
execution on terminal (within your userfname must be your name] directory) on google
classroom in Lab4 Assignment.
This lab is graded. Min points: 0 and Max points: 10.
Process Creation
Task # 1:
Write a C program that illustrates the creation of child process using fork( ) system call and
child exec function will replace any executable code other than parent.
Deliverables:
Upload the document containing C program for above task along with the screen shots of your
execution on terminal (within your user[name must be your name] directory) on google
classroom in Labs Assignment.
This lab is graded. Min points: 0 and Max points: 10.
Threads
Task #1
Write a program using pthreads, which calculates the sum of elements in a hard-coded integer
array in parallel using 4 threads. The program must divide the work between 4 threads which run
simultancously. For simplicity, you can assume that the size of the array is 100. Note that the
integer array must be declared as a global data structure. Initially code your solution so that the
sum of elements is maintained in a global shared variable. Each thread modifies the same shared
variable as it sums up elements from the aray. Use a suitable synchronization primitive (mutex)
to ensure safe access to the global variable. (A sample code of Mutex is attached for your
reference)
Deliverables
Upload the document containing C program for above task along with the screen shots of your
execution on terminal (within your userfname must be your name] directory) on google
classroom in Lab5 Assignment
This lab is graded. Min points: 0 and Max points: 10.
