Introduction

Steroid hormone(SH), is any of a bunch of hormones that belong to the category of chemical compounds referred to as steroids; they're secreted by 3 steroid glands- ovaries, testes, and the adrenal cortex, and throughout gestation by the placenta. All SH are derived from steroid alcohol (cholesterol).

The steroid hormones regulate several physiological processes, as well as the event and performance of the system. They belong to NRF (Nuclear receptor family).

Steroid hormones facilitate the management of inflammation, immune functions metabolism, salt and water balance, development of sexual characteristics, and also the ability to resist health problems and injury.

Steroid hormones (SH), are a cholesterol-derived chemical messenger secreted by ovaries and testes.
