It analyses the point of views of the sociologists that circumscribes multiple sociological theories. The different paradigms in sociology are-
- Positivism- Under this, sociologists aspire to abandon biasness and evaluate empirical, objective and scientific truth.
- Critical Paradigm- the critical Paradigm emphasises inequality, social change and Power. The sociologists here address that social science can never be truly free.
- Social constructionism- In social constructionism, the description of the truth may vary. It is socially constructed and also ever-changing.
Postmodernism- Postmodernism is a socially constructed reality consisting of crucial features like Globalisation, media, consumer society, cultural hybridity and diversity, and A world in Fragments. Postmodern society influences many areas of social life at micro and macro levels.
