A 208V, 45hp, 0.8pf leading, Y- connected 60Hz cylindrical rotor synchronous motor has a synchronous reactance of 2.5Ω and a negligible armature resistance. Its friction and windage losses are 1.5kW. Initially, the shaft is supplying an 11kW load at 0.8 power factor (leading).
