The CnH2n rule applies to alkene molecule or cyclic ring system. In these molecules, the number of hydrogen is exactly double that of carbon.

To check the solubility of a given molecule we can study the presence of polar groups. The -OH group of the molecule has a tendency to form hydrogen bonding with the water molecule which is solvent, which increases the solubility of molecules.
