R(s)- Hi G1 5 >Y(s) G2
A block diagram of a control system is a representation of the functions performed by each component and the signal flow of that system. Thus, it indicates the interrelationship that exists between the various components, where all system variables are linked to others through the relationship between the input and output of the blocks. This input and output relationship of each block is called the transfer function.
Therefore, to analyze the total behavior of a control system, it is initially necessary to define what the variables of interest will be, that is, what the input and output variables of this system will be, in order to establish a relationship between them by through the replacement of intermediate variables. Using simplifications we will find equations that describe the system in a way that results in an expression that directly relates the variables of interest.
Given the block diagram shown in Figure 1 and, considering that each component of the control system is represented by a function called G1, G2 and H1, obtain the transfer function for the system considering the output variable Y(s) and the input R(s).
