Step 1

The ability to interpret the visual stimuli is called visual information processing. It is a complex process through which light energy is converted into a meaningful image.

First the light passes through the clear front part of the eye called cornea.
After passing from the cornea, pupil and iris decide how much light should enter into eye.
Light hits the retina - it is a sensitive area at the back part of the eye hwere photoreceptor cells are found, after passing from pupil, iris and lens.
When retina receive the light, it converts light into electrical signal with help of photoreceptor cells.
These electrical signals are carried away from eye to brain by optical nerve to primary visual cortex located in the occipital lobe of the brain.
Brain interpret the signal and we see what we see.
