The descriptive aspect take into factor of environmental and historical phenomena. It analysis and observes cultures, such as customs and traditions. Prescriptive aspect makes judgement and assumptions on cultural beliefs. It also looks into certain criteria's and values. Along as the purpose of the study is understood and using appropriate and politically correct terms, you would be able to find a distinct difference. Independent criteria's such as human rights and social justice can help evaluate the cultural beliefs, but evaluating different cultures and making a comparison can be a difficult and controversial issue. There isn't a golden list of criteria's that say some cultures are better than others. When putting the cultures together to say which ones is better and which is worse won't be the same answer from everybody because they vary depending on who is doing the study. To set a foundation, anthropologist would need to do critical studies of frameworks for cultures. They would also need a specialist from different fields such as ethics and human rights it would help create a full understanding of each culture). Reply to Yousef.
