First Draft of first summary: Out of all four units these two have been most meaningful to me number 1 being Who was C wright mills and why is the
sociological imagination important /sociological imagination by C wright mills. This is most meaningful to me because it makes you think more and get
more into depth about life. Usually we go by doing everyday things but we don't really think about the bigger picture in our everyday lives. Reading his
work makes you think and imagine more clearly the issues in our lives and society. These things are more important than we imagine it is but the more
you think and review about it the more you understand and know that it's important to focus on these issues. The second most meaningful to me was the
first lesson what is sociology because when I first started this class I didn't really expect much about it just that we were going to talk about social work
but I didn't know that we would get more in depth to things in humanities like what causes these changes , issues and personal feelings which is
completely my fault for thinking that this was gonna be a simple class but it is more complex and reading what is sociology really helps me dive into the
context that we're going to be learning and help me learn more about humanities and understand so I can actually pursue a career in social work and
sociology.
Final Draft of first summary:
C Wright mills was an american sociologist his work helped me better understand life and the way us humans think and prepare. C Wright Mills always
thought bigger and better. The more he used his mind the more questions he had for society. Even within his life he experienced sociological imagination.
With his back to back divorces it was obvious there was a problem. but what? Him. He had a marriage problem which is very common. According to his
biography he had many affairs. Learning about him was a huge milestone for me because it helped me see every part of a problem and every perspective.
His work, ideas and thoughts played a huge role in my understanding of sociological imagination. The second most meaningful thing I learned was
sociology itself. Learning has never been hard for me but when I was first introduced to college it was a hard transformation. During my time in college the
professor has helped me learn about sociological imagination in many ways. Whether it was a powerpoint, notes, articles/readings or just her speaking
from her knowledge. Her words have helped me develop a clear sight of imagination in the sociological world. She's given us videos to review and tasks to
complete to help better our knowledge of sociological imagination and I used that knowledge everyday to try and solve issues within myself and family.
When I joined this class for the first time I was shocked about what I thought sociology would be about vs. what it really is about. I always thought
sociology was more like psychology when it isn't ! It's specifically about humanities and human social relationships.
