Expert Solution
Step 1

According to the junction rule, the sum of all the incoming current at the junction is equal to the sum of all the outgoing current from the junction.

At junction 1 the current i1 is coming at the junction whereas, the current i2 and i3 are leaving from the junction. Therefore, according to this junction rule the current at junction 1 can be written as;

I1=I2+I3

Step 2

Similarly, at junction 2 all the currents are coming to the junction and there is no outgoing current. Therefore, the current at junction 2 can be written as;

I3+I4+I5=0
