Situation: Cake filtration is important in many processes. However, the analysis and design of filtration operations is still largely dependent on heuristics and experimentation. In industry, constant rate filtration (CRF) and constant pressure filtration (CPF) are widely used. In this study, the constant pressure drop are applied to study the efficient of new filtration process. The laboratory filtration process are conducted at constant pressure drop on a slurry of calcium carbonate in water give the data shown in Table 1.
