Positive Reinforcement: It means enhancing a child behaviour by any valuable reward when the behaviour is carried out. The reward could be anything it could be a candy bar, a star, a coin, a few praising words etc.
Negative Reinforcement: A Behaviour is strengthen by removing the undesirable outcome. A child tends to complete his work before his mother arrived in order to avoid scolding here the scolding is an undesirable outcome that could happen if the particular task is not being done on a time.
Punishment whether positive or negative aims at weakening a particular response either by presenting or taking away something.
Positive Punishment: It's something that weakens or removes the behaviour when you present something unfavourable.
Negative Punishment: It includes taking away something that's desirable in order to reduce undesirable behaviour.
