provide commentary on how the following paragraph made you feel and provide examples of support that you could offer them as a victim

Caleb I am writing this victim impact story to inform you how much you have made an everlasting impact on my life in a very negative way. Caleb you are a murder! The crime you committed against my nephew was senseless and unfair to him and myself. My nephew was only 22 years old, Caleb, you took him away from his family too soon. You DESTROYED my family and I.

Every morning when I wake up, I wake up with tears filling my eyes. I can't stop my tears from flowing knowing how much I am missing my oldest nephew. Each day it is hard for me to get out of bed and function adequately. My days are filled with grief, hurt and pain because I am constantly reminded each day how you murdered my nephew. It is unfair to my nephew; it is unfair to myself. I am endlessly trying to hold myself together and get my strength, but you have stripped me from everything that I used to be and love. Caleb my body trembles out of anger and agony thinking about the pain and suffering you have caused my nephew. Because of you I am left feeling empty, I no longer smile because the pain is too deep. The open wounds you left in my nephew now lives within me every day.

Throughout the days I have uncontrollable panic attacks. I find myself looking at old pictures that are now just a memory because of you. My mind never stop thinking about the phone call I received the night you killed my nephew. Each night I wake up in cold sweats after tossing and turning and having several nightmares throughout the night. Because of you, Caleb I suffer from anxiety, depression, and PTSD. I have lost my strength, motivation, determination, and sense of direction and more importantly myself. I am not the same! I don’t know who I am!

Caleb, you took a knife to my nephew back and attacked him multiple times. He was defenseless! You left him to die of open wounds and excessive bleeding by stabbing his main arteries. Caleb you repeatedly punctured his lungs. Caleb, you demolished my happiness. My nephew was an out-going, loving, free-spirited individual who was active in his community. He enjoyed helping others and loved music. He was a positive leader and role-model.

The crime you premeditated and intentionally committed will last a lifetime. However, the pain and suffering I am forced to deal with for the rest of my life should match your sentence. Although, your punishment will never bring my nephew back or erase my sadness I am happy to say I am relieved on today justice will be served! I hope as each day passes you will begin to realize your actions cost my nephew his life!
