Question

Provide brief definitions for each of the following concepts:IPv6, QoS, MAC

Expert Solution
Step 1
Most Internet users are familiar with the concept of an IP address. This is a unique identifier assigned to devices that connect to the Internet. The current version in use is IPv4, which consists of 32-bit addresses. However, the number of unique IP addresses is running out, so a new version, IPv6, is being implemented.

IPv6 is the latest version of the Internet Protocol, also known as IP, which is the primary protocol that routes traffic across the internet.

IPv6 was created to address the issues of address depletion and security flaws that are inherent in the previous version, IPv4. IPv6 is not backward compatible with IPv4, which means that devices must be specifically configured to use the new protocol. However, most major operating systems, including Windows, Linux, and macOS, support both protocols.
