provide a response to the following paragraph  I think prostitution should be legal in all 50 states. The legalization of prostitution would reduce crime, improve public health, increase tax revenue, help people out of poverty, get prostitutes off the streets, and allow consenting adults to make their own choices. It would also improve mental and physical healthcare (including STI prevention care), safer and more accessible ways of reporting violence and abuse as well as improved infrastructure and working conditions. During prohibition, alcohol was made illegal and as a result there were many negative consequences. Prohibition removed a significant source of tax revenue and greatly increased government spending. It led many drinkers to switch to opium, marijuana, patent medicines, cocaine, and other dangerous substances that they would have been unlikely to encounter in the absence of Prohibition. It also caused a rise in organized crime associated with the illegal production and sale of alcohol. I think legalizing prostitution relates to this. Like Prohibition, there are many negative aspects related to prostitution being illegal. Prostitution becoming legal would have positive impacts on society related to improving health, safety, and lowering crime.
