Question

Prepare a report on the heating systems available in your area for residential buildings. Discuss the advantages and disadvantages of each system and compare their initial and operating costs.

Expert Solution
Step 1

The heating systems installed in residential buildings of my area are:

1.Furnace:The most common heating system is a furnace where any natural gas (fuel) is burnt to heat the air, and this air is then circulated in the building .It is beneficial for small rooms, it cannot b used for entire building.

2.Heat pumps: They pump cool fluid inside and outside a building which leads to  latent heat exchange which leads to heating of the building.

3.Boilers:In this case water is heated by means of fuel and this warm water is circulated in the building .By means of radiator this warm water heats the building. The water can be heated in boilers by fossil fuels or even electricity.
