PRACTICE ANOTHER Use the table to answer each question. Note: Round z-scores to the nearest hundredth and then find the required A values using the table. A psychologist finds that the intelligence quotlents of a group of patients are normally distributed, with a mean of 102 and a standard deviation of 16. Find the percent of the patients with the following IQs? (a) above 114 (b) between 90 and 120
Inverse Normal Distribution
The method used for finding the corresponding z-critical value in a normal distribution using the known probability is said to be an inverse normal distribution. The inverse normal distribution is a continuous probability distribution with a family of two parameters.
Mean, Median, Mode
It is a descriptive summary of a data set. It can be defined by using some of the measures. The central tendencies do not provide information regarding individual data from the dataset. However, they give a summary of the data set. The central tendency or measure of central tendency is a central or typical value for a probability distribution.
Z-Scores
A z-score is a unit of measurement used in statistics to describe the position of a raw score in terms of its distance from the mean, measured with reference to standard deviation from the mean. Z-scores are useful in statistics because they allow comparison between two scores that belong to different normal distributions.

A psychologist finds that the Intelligence quotients of a group of patients are normally distributed, with a mean of 102 and a standard devlation of 16. Find the percent of the
patients with the following IQs?

![Consider the following.
3, 23, 8, 15, 28, 13
Compute the population standard devlation of the numbers. (Round your answer to two decimal place.)
8.47
(a) Double each of your original numbers and compute the standard deviation of this new population. (Round your answer to two declmal place.)
16.6
(b) Use the results of part (a) and Inductive reasoning to state what happens to the standard devlation of a population when each data item is multiplied by a positive
constant k.
The standard devlation Is multiplied by -k.
The standard devlation is divided by k.
The standard deviation is multiplied by k.
The standard devlation is k.
The standard deviation is unchanged.
