Please help with the following:

What do the following commands do in the Linux cmd line:

mount (-t)
umount
rmdir (-v)

Expert Solution
Step 1 mount

In Linux file system all files are arranged as a big tree rooted at '/'.

We use command mount to mount or attach a filesystem found on a device to big tree structure or simply mount is used to mount a storage devise or file system, and to attach it in a existing directory after making it  accessable.

Syntax:   mount -t type device dir

Eg. if we want to print only the ext4 partitions we need to write:  $ mount -t ext4 /dev/sdc/data

there are two options for mount: -t and -o. -t is used to specify the file system type and -o is used to specify the additional mount option.
