Please help by DRAWING and give the solutions like the one in the picture (the problems are all related.) 1. The same ball is tossed upward at the top of a 80 m tall building at 30m/s. Find the distances covered and the velocities in 1 second intervals. 2. The ball is thrown down from the top of the 80 m tall building at 30 m/s. Find the distances covered and the velocities in 1 second intervals.

Expert Solution
Step 1

1. The same ball is tossed upward at the top of a 80 m tall building at 30m/s. Find the distances covered and the velocities in 1 second intervals.

ball is tossed upward at the top of a 80 m tall building at 30m/s

 Initail velocity u=30m/s

 Use equation  V=u -gt  or Snth second = U - g/2(2n-1) .

This equation gives us Snth second  distances covered and the velocities in 1 second intervals

    so S1 = 30m/s -9.8/2(2-1)=30-4.9x1=25.1m

        S2  =  30-4.9(2x2-1)=30 -4.9x3=15.3m  so on

       S3    = 30-4.9x5= 5.5m    S4=30 -4.9x7 .

       at  after 3 s the particle reaches the top . at attain 0 speed.

       we find  v= u- gt we get 0=30-9.8t  so  t=30/9.8=3.06 s
