Introduction:-

Animals without a notochord – the rod-like elastic structure that supports the body – are known as non-chordates. This phylum is made up of a tiny group of worm-like marine animals that are organised on an organ-system level.

Non-chordates include members of the phyla Porifera, Coelenterata, Ctenophora, Platyhelminthes, Aschelminthes, Annelida, Arthropoda, Mollusca, Echinodermata, and Hemichordata.

Non-Chordates have the following general characteristics:

They are coelomate or pseudocoelomate animals that are cylindrical, triploblastic, and coelomate.
These animals breathe through their gills, trachea, or the surface of their bodies.
The majority of the time, the sexes of the members cannot be differentiated.
Sexual and asexual reproductive modes exist.
Fertilization is external, while some species have internal fertilisation.
Non-chordates' bodies usually have an open circulatory system.
