Deduce the correct gene order, knowing that in the dco progeny the alleles of the
two "outside" genes are still together as they were in the parentals, whereas the
alleles of the middle gene have "switched" to the other sister chromatid.
The A & C and a & c alleles are still together in the dco progeny, whereas t
alleles of the B/c alleles have switched position.Therefore, the B gene must be in
the middle. It is helpful now to re-write all the progeny genotypes showing the
correct order if they aren't already written that way. In this example, B is in the
middle, however if A was in the middle we could re-write:
