Identify three potential problems and propose solutions to food production in today's geopolitical environment.
"Food Politics" by Marion Nestle, says that food markets like to start young, in that, they begin by enticing children into buying the foods they decide by manipulating their thinking patterns and choices through advertising, targeting schools, etc. For instance, food-related advertising targets little boys and girls, shaping their choices regarding what they wish. Or, when food markets release books, like counting books, which are directed toward teaching kids how to count involve counting food items like candy, thereby sending subliminal messages to children. This is the consequence of children's purchasing power having increased leaps and bounds, and markets have honed in on this. When children were surveyed regarding their food choices, they mentioned preferring candy, cookies, soft drinks, and other such food items. The consequence of this is a low nutritional diet and related conditions, like childhood obesity, etc.
This gives rise to a myriad of problems.
