OBJECTIVES: 1. Design web pages using fundamental concepts of HTML. 2. Design aesthetic web pages using external CSS. Guidelines: 1. Create your personal website by applying the correct structure of an HTML document and HTML elements. 2. Use the visual guide of your personal website you created in Midterm lecture activity 3. 3. Use an editor such as notepad, notepad++, or sublime to create the external CSS file and html documents. 4. Use the different HTML elements to present the contents of your personal website. Do not limit the presentation of the contents to paragraphs or headings. Ensure that a variety of html elements are used in the website. This includes lists, tables, images , divisions, links, menus, options and others. 5. HTML5 must have at least three (4) HTML documents. Your personal website’ content should at least contain the following: ● Home page ● Personal profile ● Hobbies and interests ● Gallery 6. Do not put all contents on a single html document. Create multiple html documents and use these as links for your main html document. For the other html documents, use appropriate(descriptive) filenames for the other html documents (ex: gallery.html, interests.html). 7. Create a folder named LASTNAME, FIRSTNAME. Save all files and subfolders in this folder (index.html, other html documents and folders, picture files, CSS files, screen capture of validator results, etc). 8. Save the main html document as index.html. The index.html file is the home page of your personal website. 9. Organize your files in folders. Ensure that you indicate the correct paths of your files in your html documents by specifying the relative paths. ex: \CSS\style.css, \folder2\pictures\pix1.jpg (Note: You may provide your own folder names and filenames. These are just examples) 10. Use external CSS to provide formatting and aesthetics to your html documents. Provide appropriate filenames for the CSS files. 11.For CSS, create a subdirectory (label it as CSS) inside the root directory of your personal website. Save all CSS files into the CSS directory. Example: LASTNAME, FIRSTNAME (root directory) index.html profile.html gallery.html CSS (subdirectory) (CSS files must be saved here) Pictures(subdirectory) ... Other folder(subdirectories)
