Name the five major spinal plexuses and the spinal
nerves associated with each.

The nervous system in humans is comprised of two key divisions; 1. Central nervous system (that comprises of the brain and spinal cord) and 2. Peripheral nervous system (that comprises of the spinal cord and the network of nerves, nerve branches, nerve roots, nerve plexus, etc. that supplies to the periphery) Nerve plexus is a plexus or a branching network made up of intersecting nerves. It is composed of two different fiber system (afferent and efferent fibers) that originates from the merge of the anterior rami of the blood vessels and the spinal nerves. Five spinal nerve plexuses are present (except in the thoracic region) along with autonomic plexuses in the nerve plexus system which contribute to forming the component of the enteric nervous system. The nerve arising from the spinal nerve plexuses are comprised of both motor and sensory functions.
