Expert Solution
Step 1
There are a number of freeware tools that helps in the partitioning of the drives also the partitions can be done by the built-in tool Disk Management.
Step 2
Below are the steps to create the sections of the hard disks to organize data into them.
- First, search the disk management tool through the search option in the windows.
- Now, double click to select the option Create and Format Hard disk partitions.
- Select the particular hard drive which needs to be partitioned. Also, remember if the windows is installed on the selected drive then some unallocated space must be provided before partitioning.
- After making the selection a drive down menu will appear right on the option Shrink Volume.
- Now, the OS will find the free space of the hard drive to allocate the memory then ask the user to either select the calculated free space to allocate for one partition or the user can enter the space in MBs for different partitions to get allocated the memory.
- Now, right-click on the unallocated space and double click to select New Simple Volume also the user can change the name of new partition.
- Select the size of the newly partitioned hard drive.
- The user now needs to format the drive either the quick format or by NTFS.
- A new dialog box will appear, click on the Next button, and then click on the Finish button to finalize the partition.
- The new partition is created.
