Expert Solution

Step 1
Mexico city , Mexico is located at−99.128∘ Longitude, 19.4∘ Latitude. the solar-zenith angles for this city on each of the following dates.
1 B )
We are given, Latitude = 19.4° N We need to calculate the zenith angle at different dates
1) At summer solstice : Angle of declination, d= 23.45° (Positive during summer solstice)
Latitude, l= 19.4°
Elevation angle = 90 + l - d
= 90 + 19.4 - 23.45 = 85.95
Zenith Angle = 90 - elevation angle
= 90 - 85.95 = 4.05
2) At Autumn equinox: We know Declination =0°
Angle of elevation= 90+ 19.4 -0 = 109.4
As you have value was greater than 90°so subtract it from 180°.
Angle of elevation= 180 - 109.4 = 70.6
Zenith angle = 90 - 70.6 = 19.4
