MAKE A REFLECTION  1. Spain exported the Catholic religion when it colonized the Philippines and South America. Through the centuries of catholic globalization, the economies of some countries in Latin America and the Philippines have remained less than successful. Also, some people have suffered in society because of rigid and discriminatory church practices ingrained in the nation's culture. Do you believe the Catholic religion in general is responsible for the economic and social problems of the Philippines, or simply the customs, beliefs and practices of the Filipinos regarding religion? 2. Religion has caused some of history's dark moments causing suffering for millions of people worldwide. From the holocaust in WW2, the persecution of non Muslims in some Islamic countries, the sexual abuse of boys by Catholic priests, the immoral accumulation of wealth by Evangelical pastors who ask for contributions in the name of God...to the terrorist attacks of radical Muslims around the world... the list of atrocities brought by people who practice their religion is endless. Do you believe religion has caused more harm than good today? Do you believe people abuse religion in the guise of getting rid of people who do not follow their line of thinking? Or is it religion that cause people to do harm?
