Limonene is one of the most common inexpensive fragrances. Two isomers of limonene can be isolated from natural sources. They are shown below. The one on the left has the odor of lemons, and the one on the right has the odor of oranges. Isomers of Limonene

What kind of isomers are they?
Expert Solution
Step 1
If two compounds have same molecular formula but have different structural formula are called isomers. Now isomer are classified as constitutional isomer and stereoisomer. The difference between them is connectivity, if two compound has different connectivity then it is called constitutional isomer. If they have same connectivity then it is called stereoisomer.
Now stereoisomer is classified as enantiomer and diastereoisomer, if two compounds are mirror image to each other then it is called enantiomer and if they are not mirror image then it is called diastereoisomer.
