Ionic Equilibrium
Chemical equilibrium and ionic equilibrium are two major concepts in chemistry. Ionic equilibrium deals with the equilibrium involved in an ionization process while chemical equilibrium deals with the equilibrium during a chemical change. Ionic equilibrium is established between the ions and unionized species in a system. Understanding the concept of ionic equilibrium is very important to answer the questions related to certain chemical reactions in chemistry.
Arrhenius Acid
Arrhenius acid act as a good electrolyte as it dissociates to its respective ions in the aqueous solutions. Keeping it similar to the general acid properties, Arrhenius acid also neutralizes bases and turns litmus paper into red.
Bronsted Lowry Base In Inorganic Chemistry
Bronsted-Lowry base in inorganic chemistry is any chemical substance that can accept a proton from the other chemical substance it is reacting with.
![**Label each reactant and product in this reaction as a Brønsted acid or base.**
\[ \text{CH}_3\text{OH} + \text{OH}^- \leftrightharpoons \text{CH}_3\text{O}^- + \text{H}_2\text{O} \]
Place the appropriate labels of "acid" or "base" into the correct positions for the reactants and products of the reaction.
There are four dotted boxes beneath the reactants and products, where you need to place the labels.
Below the equation, there is an "Answer Bank" containing two options:
- Acid
- Base
Drag and drop the correct label from the Answer Bank into each of the dotted boxes beneath the respective chemical species in the reaction equation to correctly describe their role as either a Brønsted acid or base.](/v2/_next/image?url=https%3A%2F%2Fcontent.bartleby.com%2Fqna-images%2Fquestion%2F7d591113-c73d-4bf8-a1b7-9966513ce440%2F44cf4370-9df1-484b-91ce-2ed0683d5710%2Fwzk4imd_processed.png&w=3840&q=75)
