System Description:
RedIce project comprises of an e-commerce website and an android app based on augmented reality. The theme behind this project is to give maximum satisfaction to the online customers about the products by showing a model in augmented reality before buying. This app will let the customers to visualize their desired product just in-front of them by using their smart phones. Let’s suppose you want to buy a table from online store, you have plenty of options available and you have no idea which one looks good in your house. Now, our app will give you an opportunity to see all the tables in-front of you by scanning the place you are willing to keep in, this will also let you to do in-depth analysis of a product by changing its size and orientation.
Although online businesses are growing exponentially but there are still some limitations that need to be overcome. Sometime images are not enough to satisfy a customer, because images are taken under optimum conditions with professional cameras and good editing make them more attractive. Customer wants to know more about product but he can only see it, he must rely upon the data available in the form of images and description, so there involves some risk while purchasing it. Actual product may be different as the way presented in pictures. So that’s why people prefer to buy it from physical shops.
