(a) Find the description algorithm.
(b) The cipher text consists of 32 bit blocks C1, C2, · ... Suppose that a transmission error
causes C1 to be received as C1 7 C1 , but that C2, C3, ·.. are received correctly. This
corrupted ciphertext is then decrypted to find plaintext blocks P, P2, P3,.... Show that
Pi + P1 but that P; + P; for all i > 4. Therefore the error affects only three blocks of
the decryption.
