The attention filtering model was given by Broadbent. Broadbent was the first person who has been proposed first human attentional processing system. It is also called early selection of attention. It is based on the meaning that is important or have the common words.

Step 1 :
Broadbent said that the basic information about the stimuli is first processed. In the basic properties there are like, color, pitch, direction and the loudness is included. The physical properties are that the selective filter that allow some of the stimuli pass through out the filter. The channel selection is also there which is guided by the attention.
The information that is selected by the filter is attended for a short time which is found in short term memory. After storage ion the short memory, it is manipulated and transfer into long term memory.
