In which meiotic division does the separation of identical chromatids occur? After the end of this process what are the ploidies of the new cells?
Oogenesis
The formation of the ovum (mature female gamete) from undifferentiated germ cells is called oogenesis. This process takes place in the ovaries (female gonads). Oogenesis consists of three stages known as the multiplication phase, growth phase, and maturation phase.
Cell Division
Cell division involves the formation of new daughter cells from the parent cells. It is a part of the cell cycle that takes place in both prokaryotic and eukaryotic organisms. Cell division is required for three main reasons:

Meiosis occurs in two steps known as meiosis-I and meiosis-II.
Meiosis-I is the reduction division because the homologous chromosomes are separated from each other and travel to different poles of the cell. So chromosome number gets half in each of the progeny cells.
Meiosis-II is the equal division, because the chromosome number remains same in each of progeny cells. Only the chromatids are separated to from two different chromosomes.
So, meiosis-II is the answer for the first part.
