In python, count the neighboring *'s of each individual element in this array:

   * * . . .
    . . . . .
    . * . . .

then output an array where each element is replaced with the numbers of *'s above below and diagonal to them.  The output should look like this:

* * 1 0 0

3 3 2 0 0

1 * 1 0 0

Expert Solution
Note:
  1. Form your output the numbers of *'s are not just counted above, below and diagonal but they have been also counted from sides that are left and right.
  2. You can see that in row 1 and column 3 there is 1 in the output. But there is no * above, below, and diagonal to it.
  3. Hense by assuming that you forgot to mention left and right, I have written the code which also checks for *'s at left and right.
  4. The code is dynamic means even if you change the input, the code will still work.
  5. I have added the sample output screenshots.
  6. If you want to change anything in the code or if you want to add more functionality to the code then feel free to post the question.
  7. Thank you.
