this is incorrect. VAB=-4/7v and req=22/21 should be the answer please re-do it correctly and in great detail
KVL and KCL
KVL stands for Kirchhoff voltage law. KVL states that the total voltage drops around the loop in any closed electric circuit is equal to the sum of total voltage drop in the same closed loop.
Sign Convention
Science and technology incorporate some ideas and techniques of their own to understand a system skilfully and easily. These techniques are called conventions. For example: Sign conventions of mirrors are used to understand the phenomenon of reflection and refraction in an easier way.

this question is for the follow up answer which was correct. first of all how did you take the directions of i1 i2 i3 and i4 if they weren't given? meaning on what basis 2nd of all how did u ground vb and make it equal to zero if that wasnt given as well and how did you get the equations for i1 i2 i3 v etc... can you please elaborate?
im new to the concept of nodal analysis so when finding vab u applied nodal analysis to get v1 but on what basis did you put the values in the numerator and denominator? and what part of the circuit did you not take into account while calculating it? since there seem to be some missing values. i mean what does each number refer to. also when calculating vth and used v1 to find it how did u get x2/2+1? i know about the voltage division rule but im a bit confused can you please elaborate on all these points?
